Dr. Estela Lorenzo, gynecologist specialized in endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain, presents the case of Lucía Fañanas, a 22-year-old patient diagnosed with endometriosis at 19. From early stages of the disease, Lucía began to develop a complex picture in which, in addition to the usual symptoms, digestive manifestations appeared, generalized contractures, postural alterations and a very important increase in muscle tone. As the specialist explains, this type of evolution can occur in women with long-duration endometriosis, when sustained inflammation ends up affecting the nervous system and favoring a state of hyperexcitation related to chronic pain.
In this context, the treatment incorporated NESA as support to intervene on the regulation of the autonomic nervous system and reduce the global impact of the painful process. Both the doctor and the patient herself describe a positive response from the first sessions. Lucía reports a clear improvement in sleep, greater body relaxation, less fatigue and a significant reduction in contractures that affected different areas of the body. She also points out some improvement in intestinal discomfort associated with the disease.
From clinical examination, the team observed a progressive decrease in muscle tone, as well as a better general evolution of the picture. As highlighted in the testimony, this improvement is directly contributing to increasing her quality of life and reducing symptoms that intensely conditioned her daily life.
