“From the first sessions I noticed improvements: I sleep all night, without anxiety or interruptions to go to the bathroom. I feel much more rested and relaxed.”

Estefanía Medina Selas, physiotherapist at the Reyes Medina physiotherapy office, presents the case of Laura, a 47-year-old patient who came to consultation in a context marked by stress, anxiety and significant deterioration of sleep quality. As she relates, she would wake up many times during the night, rest poorly and that lack of sleep directly impacted her daily life, generating constant tiredness, apathy and a clear decrease in her energy and motivation.
The initial approach focused on working on the regulation of the autonomic nervous system during the first sessions. As treatment progressed, progressive improvements began to appear that the patient herself increasingly perceived. One of the most notable aspects of the case was the improvement of associated symptomatology that Laura had not mentioned in the first consultation: overactive bladder and nighttime awakenings to urinate. After initial stabilization, the patient reported that she had stopped getting up at night to go to the bathroom and that she felt much calmer, with a clear reduction in anxiety episodes.
After completing the first ten sessions, Laura describes a “radical” change in her general well-being. She points out that she sleeps continuously, gets up rested and faces the day with much more vitality. She is currently in the review phase and maintains a stable evolution, without insomnia, without nighttime awakenings and without the anxiety she presented at the beginning.
