The testimony of María Ángeles and Estefanía Medina-Selas, physiotherapist at the Reyes-Medina Physiotherapy Office, reflects the impact that a complementary approach can have on patients with long-term chronic pain and inflammation. María Ángeles has lived with rheumatoid arthritis since she was 21 years old and, after more than two decades of the disease, had accumulated pain, morning stiffness, inflammation and significant functional limitation.
As Estefanía explains, although conventional physiotherapy treatment had allowed some evolution, very disabling symptoms persisted, especially in the early hours of the day. It was then that the decision was made to incorporate non-invasive neuromodulation with NESA technology as part of the therapeutic approach.
The response, as both relate, was particularly significant from the first sessions. María Ángeles describes an evident reduction in inflammation, greater lightness when moving and a very important decrease in pain, to the point of recovering daily activities with a sense of well-being she had not experienced for years. She also highlights an overall improvement that even allowed her to reduce medication, including painkillers and sleep medication.
For the clinical team, this case was a particularly revealing experience due to the magnitude of the change observed. The testimony shows how, even in chronic and complex pathologies, the incorporation of new tools can open a real way of improvement in the patient’s functionality, rest and quality of life.
