Antonio Roibás, family doctor and general surgeon with a long career in public and private healthcare management, currently directs the Sports Medicine project RX2 Sports & Health Center in Pozuelo, Madrid. His role is to lead health and technology projects with an integrative approach that goes beyond hyper-specialization by compartments.
He defends that modern patients no longer settle for any opinion and seek reference centers with a high level of knowledge. At RX2 they try to offer the athlete the most scientifically consolidated treatments but also the most innovative, and in that context they incorporate NESA as a complementary tool both for injury recovery and for emotional balance and relaxation.
His conceptual framework of well-being is articulated in three fundamental pillars where the autonomic nervous system has participation in all: movement — not only exercise but mobility and strength —, nutrition and sleep. In an increasingly stressful environment, addressing these three pillars in an integrated way is what makes the difference in the health of the athlete and the general patient.
He concludes with a reflection on integrative medicine: seeing the patient as a whole, listening to them with time, and remembering that therapists work with “the most valuable substance that exists: the human being”.
