Juan Naranjo, physiotherapist with more than 15 years of experience, developed his career in professional football in Madrid and has been the physiotherapist of the first team of UD Las Palmas for 9 years. He works in a multidisciplinary team — physio, doctor, podiatrist, trainer — where individualization and constant meetings are the basis of the work.
His approach to NESA starts from elite sports performance: in professional football, a thousandth of a second, a more relaxed muscle tone before the match or a faster recovery post-training can be decisive. He systematically compared the muscle recovery of players with and without NESA, clearly observing how they arrived with better tone and less fatigue after training.
He emphasizes the importance of the autonomic nervous system in the modern footballer, subjected to growing pressure not only sporty but also from social media and public exposure. Getting players to rest well and have their head “blank” before a match is for him as important as any physical work. He has also observed results in chronic pain and neuropathic pain in consultation patients, and a striking case of menstrual cycle regulation as a positive side effect.
