José María Bello, physiotherapist at the Bello Physiotherapy Center, presents the case of Nicolás Parrajerge, a 19-year-old young man with atypical encephalopathy and hyperactivity who, after an emotional crisis related to a complicated family situation, began to show significant alteration in his behavior, sleep and participation in daily activities. Although Nicolás was already attending physiotherapy weekly, this worsening made it necessary to seek a complementary tool to better address emotional dysregulation, disruptive behaviors and insomnia.
His mother explains that Nicolás became much more negative, had frequent tantrums, did not want to go to school, rejected his usual activities and even avoided leaving home. Although he was taking medication to sleep, he continued to rest poorly and this further worsened his general state during the day. It was then that they began treatment with NESA as support within his therapeutic process.
As the family relates, the evolution was very positive: Nicolás began to sleep better, stopped needing sleeping pills, improved his concentration capacity and returned to enjoying his extracurricular activities. In addition, he was calmer, happier and emotionally more stable. The case reflects how an approach aimed at regulating rest and the nervous system can have a very significant impact on patients with complex needs and on the quality of life of their entire environment.
