Beatriz Rodríguez

Nursing assistant and patient

“Since I use NESA, I have improved my quality of life: I sleep better, I manage pain and I can enjoy more time with my son. That it is available in public hospitals is a great advance to avoid surgeries and private treatments.”

Video description

Beatriz Rodríguez, nursing assistant at Siberia-Serena Hospital, has been on sick leave for two years unable to lead a normal life. Her testimony is one of the closest and most emotional: she has reached the point of not being able to get out of the car after work, not being able to stand for more than a few minutes, and having two years without knowing what normality is. She had tried medication, pilates, swimming and physiotherapy every 15 days without sustained improvement.
Since she began treatment with NESA at Don Benito-Villanueva Hospital — the first public hospital of the SNS to implement it — she has achieved progress that for her is enormous: taking a walk with her son, going shopping alone, standing for longer, and especially improving sleep — the night back pain that prevented her from resting and forced her to get up several times has decreased significantly.
She especially emphasizes the value of NESA reaching public healthcare, giving access to people who economically could not afford the private one. She qualifies it as “a giant step” and encourages other hospitals to follow the example, as well as other patients to ask for information without hesitation.
