Laia Blanco, co-director of a physiotherapy clinic specialized in pelvic floor dysfunctions, shares her experience on the value that NESA technology can bring to patients with complex clinical conditions in which the autonomic nervous system plays a decisive role.
In her testimony, she explains that, in clinical practice, many of the discomforts that impair patients’ quality of life do not respond solely to a mechanical injury or a structural alteration, but are influenced by an autonomic component that worsens symptoms and conditions their evolution. From this perspective, she highlights the interest of incorporating tools capable of acting on this dysfunction and thus complementing the conventional physiotherapy approach.
Laia Blanco points out that experience with NESA has allowed them to identify profiles in which its contribution is particularly relevant, such as patients with pelvic pain associated with sensitization, patients with high anxiety, catastrophizing or kinesiophobia, as well as cases of overactive bladder. As she explains, the integration of this technology into treatment contributes to significantly reducing certain symptoms and enhancing the results of established physiotherapy work.
She also focuses on a particularly important aspect: improved sleep quality. Even in patients who did not initially perceive an alteration in this area, the application of NESA has favored more restful sleep, a factor she considers key to reinforcing overall recovery, optimizing the body’s response and favoring the effectiveness of other therapeutic interventions.
