João Brites, physiotherapist and founder of T.E.C. Physio, a clinic he opened in 2021 in Portugal specialized in musculoskeletal, women’s health and neurofunctional, shares his recent commitment to NESA motivated by the results observed in neurological patients and by the need to address sleep and anxiety as factors that slow recovery.
His clinical diagnosis is clear: most of his patients have sleep problems that exacerbate pain and slow treatment. Attacking that root cause with NESA allows significantly accelerating the recovery process. His best results are observed in multiple sclerosis — where it improves general functionality and daily mobility — and in fibromyalgia, where it reduces pain and notably improves quality of life.
He highlights NESA’s value in neurological patients due to its capacity to act on the autonomic nervous system, calming the patient and reducing pain perception, which translates into greater functionality in daily life. He sees in pain neuromodulation the great future bet of physiotherapy, especially in a context where the nervous system is increasingly affected by the environment and environmental stress.
