Patricia, physician from A Coruña, shares her interest in training specifically in the field of sleep given the frequency with which she finds in consultation patients with unrestful rest, insufficient sleep and multiple associated pathologies. In her testimony, she explains that this decision is born from the need to be able to better help people whose quality of life is clearly conditioned by sleeping poorly, either due to direct sleep alterations or due to diseases that worsen when rest is not adequate.
As she relates, she considers that sleep occupies a central place in health and should be understood as one of the basic pillars of well-being. From her perspective, sleeping well not only improves performance and memory, but can also positively influence the prevention and evolution of different pathologies, including cardiovascular, respiratory, inflammatory, autoimmune and even oncological diseases. Therefore, she insists on the importance of raising awareness in the population about habits that favor better rest, such as reducing stimuli at the end of the day, avoiding stimulant substances and giving sleep the relevance it really has.
Patricia also expresses her desire to be able to offer her patients new therapeutic tools in this field, and sees in NESA an option with potential to benefit some of the people she attends. Her intervention conveys a clear idea: investing in sleep is investing in health.
