Fran Cobos, physiotherapist and osteopath specialized in craniomandibular disorders, is co-founder and co-director of Biosalud, a center of integrative medicine in Barcelona that combines conventional and complementary medicine with specialties ranging from psychology and pelvic floor to proctology.
His training in osteopathy awakened his vocation and introduced him to the importance of the autonomic nervous system, which he defines as “the philosopher’s stone of physiotherapy”: the way in which pain communicates with the central nervous system and which, in chronic processes, can become a pain highway independent of the original injury.
He learned about NESA through his sports physiotherapist and, before acquiring it, exhaustively investigated the available scientific evidence. They have been working with it since February and, although their experience is recent, they already observe beneficial effects especially in patients with chronic pelvic pain and highly sensitized patients, for whom any other technique can generate adverse reactions. In these cases, NESA’s low frequency and the absence of side effects make it the ideal tool.
He recognizes that after the training course he has become aware that he has in his consultation a tool that he was not taking advantage of to the maximum, and that he plans to systematically implement it upon his return.
