Two physiotherapists from Ovimet, a clinic specialized in overweight and obesity in Seville, share their experience with NESA technology. María León, specialized in pelvic floor, and Carlo, specialized in sports and traumatology, explain why they bet on this tool in their clinical practice.
The main trigger was the high prevalence of sleep disorders in patients with obesity, a problem that generates a vicious hormonal circle: nighttime awakenings dysregulate ghrelin, increasing appetite and making weight control difficult. Added to this, María works with patients with overactive bladder, finding in NESA a valuable therapeutic complement.
They highlight as a differentiating advantage the biopsychosocial approach of the technology: instead of acting on the focus of pain, it works systemically on the nervous system, addressing the individual globally. This is especially useful in patients with psychological involvement derived from the slowness or stagnation of their recovery process.
They also value that the microcurrent is imperceptible to the patient, being able to be applied during rest without generating any rejection or fear. For both professionals, true clinical success is measured in real improvement of the patient’s quality of life.
