Silvia, handball player for Sporting de La Rioja, shares her experience with NESA from the perspective of a professional athlete with chronic sequelae from a herniated disc operated on in 2011. Despite years of physiotherapy, the localized pain persisted and was difficult to fully address with conventional treatment.
Since she began treatment — two weekly sessions of approximately one hour — she has stopped taking anti-inflammatories, something that was usual for her, and since August the area has not bothered her. The first benefit she noticed was rest: from the first sessions she slept significantly better, which translated into arriving at training with more energy — her own teammates commented that she arrived “with a shot of energy” on the days she was treated.
At a sports level, she currently plays practically 60 full minutes in all matches, and post-match and post-training recovery has improved notably. She recognizes that as the years go by recovery becomes harder, and that is why she especially values NESA’s impact on her performance and general physical well-being.
