Physiotherapist and Director, Sport Performance Clinic

From the first session with the NESA device, I felt great calm and relaxation. The treatment significantly helped solve my cervical and lumbar problems, and from the third or fourth session, I was completely in superficial sleep, totally relaxed. In addition, NESA has been crucial in reducing my stress and anxiety, noticing very important improvement with this technology.

Juan Muro Zabaleta, physiotherapist and director of Sport Performance Clinic, presents the case of Maribel, a businesswoman who came to consultation due to a frequent picture of musculoskeletal pathology, with cervicobrachialgia, lumbar discomfort and hip problems also associated with sports practice. As he explains, during the initial assessment he detected that, in addition to the locomotor component, there was a clear background of stress and anxiety that was significantly influencing the way of expressing the symptoms and probably their clinical evolution.
From this more global reading of the case, he decided to incorporate NESA as part of the treatment, combining it with other physiotherapy techniques. The main objective was to intervene on the regulation of the autonomic nervous system, seeking not only to relieve physical pain, but also to reduce the level of internal activation with which the patient arrived. As he relates, the response was very positive from the first session. Maribel began to refer a marked sensation of calm and relaxation, to the point that, after several sessions, she entered a state of rest so deep that sometimes she had to be awakened when finished.
Juan emphasizes that this evolution translated into clear improvement both in stress and anxiety and in cervical and lumbar symptoms. The case highlights how, in certain patients, simultaneously addressing the physical sphere and the regulation of the nervous system can accelerate improvement and offer more complete and sustained results.
