Natalia Colorado, dentist specialized in dental sleep medicine, founder of the Colombian Association of Dental Sleep Medicine and current president of this entity, shares her vision on the evolution of sleep medicine in Colombia and on the role that new therapeutic tools can play within this field. In her testimony, she explains that the scientific development of this discipline in her country already has several decades of trajectory and that the consolidation of associations and specialized events has allowed creating spaces for training, multidisciplinary exchange and continuous updating for the professionals involved in addressing sleep disorders.
From this perspective, she highlights the importance that specialists from different areas know how to interact and collaborate with each other to offer more complete care to patients who, in many cases, present complex conditions. In that context, she positively values the neuromodulation offered by NESA, considering it a complementary tool with the potential to improve sleep quality and provide benefits also in patients with pain or bruxism.
Natalia Colorado emphasizes that opening the door to this type of resource within consultation and specialized training can notably enrich treatment, expanding the options available and favoring better clinical results. For her, the true criterion of success remains the perception of the patient themselves, so she considers especially relevant the good experience that, according to the evidence reviewed and her contact with this technology, is being observed in those who use it.
