Mayca Salas, physiotherapist and director of a pilates studio and physiotherapy office at Planetario, Madrid, with more than 200 pilates students, discovered NESA in spring and incorporated it focusing it mainly on sleep disorders, the most demanded need by her audience profile.
She began with three patients with insomnia from different causes and in 10 sessions she obtained results she describes as impressive. The first had very high cortisol levels and severe stress: he managed to lower cortisol and improve sleep. The second barely reached 2 hours of deep sleep per night: he went to 4 and a half hours. The third suffered from chronic insomnia for years, waking up at 3 in the morning unable to fall back asleep: now he sleeps straight from 11 at night to 7:30 in the morning.
She highlights the surprise factor in her patients: people who have tried everything and don’t believe that gloves and ankle bands for an hour can transform their sleep — and when they verify it, loyalty is total. Her operational vision is also clear: working with several devices simultaneously in passive mode while teaching pilates classes multiplies economic and clinical efficiency.
