Marina Contreras, physiotherapist and degree in physical activity, director of Sinapsis Fisioterapia in Palma de Mallorca, shares her experience with NESA as a key tool within a multidisciplinary and integrative approach. In her testimony, she explains that the incorporation of this technology has meant an important qualitative leap in her clinical practice, especially in pathologies related to sleep and in complex neurological patients, by allowing her to more effectively complement work with therapeutic exercise, manual therapy and other techniques.
As she relates, one of the most significant cases she has treated recently has been that of a patient with peripheral neuropathy associated with Churg-Strauss, who presented intense neuropathic pain throughout her leg. The approach combined twenty sessions of non-invasive neuromodulation with desensitization techniques, achieving very positive evolution. Among the results obtained, a significant decrease in pain stands out, a notable reduction in the affected area and the possibility of reducing relevant medication, including fentanyl and part of the anxiety treatment.
Marina emphasizes that NESA does not replace other interventions, but enhances the patient’s global treatment and improves the ability to offer a more complete service adjusted to their needs. For her, this technology has not only enriched her way of working, but has also helped her grow professionally and address cases from a broader, more effective and coordinated perspective.
