Laura Macías, medical specialist in occupational medicine and psychotherapist with training in humanist and systemic approaches, shares her experience with NESA within a Seville clinic initially aimed at the sports field, but in which she has also found a very valuable application in the emotional and psychosomatic terrain. In her testimony, she explains that she began using it mainly in patients with sleep problems, chronic pain, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, profiles that frequently come to her consultation due to their psychosomatic burden. However, she soon observed that the therapeutic response changed significantly when patients first received the session with NESA and then began psychotherapy.
As she relates, this combination facilitates that people very resistant to entering certain topics, patients with trauma, dissociation or difficulties connecting with their emotions, can open up more quickly and advance earlier in the therapeutic process. From her perspective, NESA acts as basic help that favors the regulation of the vegetative system and allows the patient to arrive earlier at understanding certain automatic patterns that condition their life. In addition, she herself reports personal benefits in symptoms related to multiple sclerosis, such as fatigue, pain, spasticity and sleep alterations.
Laura Macías considers that this technology has a clear usefulness not only in physiotherapy, but also in medicine, neurology, psychiatry, psychology and sports medicine. For her, the true value of NESA is in accelerating regulation processes and facilitating better quality of life from a comprehensive approach.
