Isabel Martín Santana, speech therapist and director of Logo Mer Clinic in Medina del Campo, Valladolid, holds a historical milestone: she is the first speech therapist in the world to acquire and apply NESA, after convincing the company itself to open the sale of the device beyond physiotherapists.
She has been applying it for 6-7 months in both children and adults, with results she qualifies as surprising. The most impactful case is an autistic child with severe disruptive behaviors and total absence of eye contact: after treatment, he seeks the gaze, asks looking into the eyes and has significantly increased vocabulary. The school, without knowing he was receiving the treatment, spontaneously reported an extraordinary change in the child. He currently takes no medication.
She highlights that NESA allows her to reach speech therapy objectives in months that previously required years, and is exploring its application in stuttering, dyslexia, multiple sclerosis and other pathologies. 80% of her applications are in children, who tolerate the device perfectly being painless and compatible with other simultaneous activities. The growth of patients with NESA comes mainly through family word of mouth.
