Sonia González, psychologist and director of Mutua Montañesa in León and Asturias, specialized in elderly population, shares an emotional testimony about NESA’s potential in little-explored areas: geriatrics, work accident mutuals and the school environment.
Her main focus is the elderly in residences, where practically all live with anxiety, sleep alterations and chronic pain. Together with the NESA team she is promoting a multicenter study to evaluate improvement in sleep, anxiety and mood in patients with mild or moderate cognitive impairment, convinced that small improvements in this population have a huge impact on their quality of life.
Her clinical case is a 48-year-old patient with sleep disorder, generalized anxiety and obsessive profile, who from the fourth session improved significantly: more restorative sleep, greater tranquility, more vitality and disappearance of anticipatory anguish before insomnia.
From her position in mutuals, she highlights NESA’s systemic impact: accelerating the recovery of a worker accident victim benefits the worker, the company and the social security system. She also recommends exploring NESA in the school environment for concentration and cognitive performance.
