Dr. J M Adot Zurbano

PhD in Neurobiology, specialist in autonomic dysfunctions

“There is a lot of soul in the pelvis… when children are stressed they have stomach aches or urinary problems, and in that sense it would be a good tool because it neuromodulates the entire central nervous system.”

Dr. José María Zurbano, PhD in Neurobiology from the Complutense University of Madrid and specialist in autonomic dysfunctions, shares his experience with NESA technology in addressing functional urological conditions and other disorders linked to the autonomic nervous system.
In his testimony, he explains that many neurovesical dysfunctions originate in alterations of the sympathetic, parasympathetic and autonomic nervous system in general, making this technology a particularly interesting tool within a broader and more integrative therapeutic approach. From his clinical experience, he highlights its non-invasive nature, ease of application, and potential to complement existing treatments in patients with complex needs.
Dr. Zurbano also emphasizes that the results observed with NESA technology have been, in some cases, especially positive, not only in the urological field but also in aspects related to sleep, emotional balance and the patient’s general well-being. He highlights its usefulness as an adjuvant treatment within multidisciplinary teams involving physiotherapists, psychologists and other specialists.
He also raises its possible future application in conditions such as underactive bladder, in elderly patients with limitations for pharmacological treatment, and also in the pediatric population. In his view, this is a research line with great projection, supported by growing scientific interest in the modulation and functional reorganization of the nervous system.
