Physiotherapist and director, Sport Performance

From the fifth session with NESA®, my neuropathic pain improved notably. I was able to resume my daily routine with less pain and more quality of life, also thanks to the deep relaxation effect of the treatment.

Juan Muro Zabaleta, physiotherapist and director of Sport Performance, presents the clinical case of David, a 35-year-old patient with neuropathic pain in his left foot due to tarsal tunnel syndrome, who had already been operated on two years earlier without resolving the symptoms. The pain prevented him from playing paddle, hiking and standing for more than a while, seriously affecting his daily and social life.
After initial assessment, they implemented NESA with a metameric approach to the tibial nerve and local treatment in the popliteal fossa. From the fifth-sixth session the patient noticed clear improvement of neuropathic pain. The protocol evolved progressively: at the beginning NESA was used in active mode combined with other physiotherapy techniques, and subsequently it was incorporated as a final passive therapy of 15-20 minutes with central metameric program to relax the patient, once the pain was no longer so localized in the nerve path.
Patient feedback was very positive: better activity of daily living, progressive return to leisure activities and significant reduction of pain, all this in a case where previous surgery had not provided a solution.
