Physician specialising in sleep medicine

“NESA technology is the bridge that allows us to truly reach that goal.”

Video description

Dr Abraham Brito is a physician specialising in sleep medicine and works at Sapphira, in Tirso de Molina, a centre with a multidisciplinary, integral approach to the patient that spans the nutritional, psychological and — in his case — sleep spheres. In this testimonial he explains the role non-invasive neuromodulation plays within that approach.

He stresses that there are many interdisciplinary approaches that help support the patient towards the goal that has been set, and describes this technology as the bridge that makes reaching it easier, by regulating the autonomic nervous system systemically. Although sleep is his area of choice, he notes that it has also helped with patients dealing with anxiety, stress and even chronic pain, always through different protocols and lifestyle changes. He further insists that it should not be a single line of treatment, but rather work that addresses every sphere of the person.

As an example, he shares the case of a patient of around 40 who was experiencing between ten and twelve awakenings a night, with heavily fragmented sleep. He relates that, by combining the therapy with changes in sleep hygiene in a highly multidisciplinary effort, they managed to bring those awakenings down to between zero and two per night, with restorative sleep, so that the patient maintains energy during the day and no longer feels that daytime tiredness. His testimonial reflects the value of an integral approach to rest.
