Antonio Fernando Tejera, known as “Toni”, is 46, self-employed in the world of gyms and sports supplements, and has a long track record as a competitive bodybuilder. In this testimonial he shares his personal experience with a sleep problem he had been carrying for more than twenty years, to the point of having normalised it: he slept barely three or four hours and considered it inevitable.
He recounts that this lack of rest, combined with the stress from his business and sporting activity, ended up affecting every area of his life: he was constantly tired and bad-tempered, couldn’t complete his training or recover, and was getting injured more and more often. In that context he sought help at the Acro centre, where he combined non-invasive neuromodulation with psychological support to learn to manage stress and improve his sleep hygiene.
He says the change was very positive: he went from sleeping three or four hours to resting six, and even seven at weekends. With that his mood improved, he regained quality in his training and stopped suffering one injury after another. For Toni, the assessment is very positive: he feels he has regained a quality of life he hadn’t had in years, and he stresses the enormous importance, for health and well-being, of resting well.
