María José is 45, a teacher by vocation, and in this testimonial she shares a long and profound personal experience. Seven years ago she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, which was at once a relief —she could finally put a name to what she was feeling— and a worry, as she came to terms with its chronic nature. She lived with widespread pain, constant tiredness, muscle knots and badly disrupted rest, in a period also marked by a hard emotional process following her brother’s death.
She recounts that, while being treated by physiotherapist María González, she was offered the chance to add non-invasive neuromodulation, mainly for her rest. The treatment focused on her widespread pain and her fatigue, and María José describes an improvement that came soon: she began to sleep much better, to feel more relaxed and, very significantly for her, to reduce the medication she had been relying on every day.
She describes a moment she experienced as a turning point: as the pain decreased, she felt her mind was free to attend to other things, and she describes a deep emotional release. Today she keeps her sessions far apart and increases the frequency at times of greater pain or stress. For her, the technology is one more complement within her holistic care —alongside rest, nutrition and her psychological therapy— that helps her keep her balance in daily life.
