Dr. Felipe Bárcenas works in the field of aesthetic medicine, nutrition, anti-aging medicine and integrative medicine. He currently develops his activity in Barcelona, both in his own consultation and collaborating with other centers in Sant Cugat and Arenys de Mar.
During his intervention, he explains that he is especially interested in understanding the human body and the external factors that can alter the person’s environment and affect their health. For him, passion, interest and the search for knowledge are fundamental virtues to perform any profession.
Dr. Bárcenas highlights the importance of the autonomic nervous system due to its relationship with the way external factors impact personal health. He considers that the NESA device can help him enhance the activity he already performs in consultation. As an example, he mentions patients with bruxism whom he currently treats with botulinum toxin, although he points out that NESA could help him address the root of the problem related to the autonomic nervous system.
He also hopes to apply this knowledge in osteo-tendinous pathologies, sleep alterations, overweight and obesity. He emphasizes that improving sleep can influence mood, pain and eating and social behaviors.
