Our history

Our purpose of changing the world for the better stems from its origins, when a group of Japanese doctors and engineers in the 1970s set out to investigate the science of non-invasive neuromodulation of the autonomic nervous system for more than 30 years.

Today our essence and purpose translates into the mission of improving the quality of life of millions of people through the care of their nervous system with our technology and work methodology through all healthcare professionals around the globe.

The story begins in Japan

In the mid-1970s, different Japanese doctors and engineers began to investigate human bioelectric behavior through superficial microcurrents, stimulating tens and hundreds of peripheral nerves, bearing in mind the polarity and directionality of emission and reception of electrical impulses. It took them more than 20 years to come up with the physiological frequencies, amperage, and other essential physical properties to neuromodulate the autonomic nervous system.

The first prototype is born in Odawara.

In 1987, the first technological prototype was created and applied for the first time at the Odawara Neurological Hospital, achieving neuromodulation through 192 electrodes in a suit that adapted to the dermis. The first steps towards transformation in current technology begin.

NESA® non-invasive neuromodulation

From 1987 to 1992, non-invasive neuromodulation was finally perfected through peripheral nerves, the technology evolved to 24 strategically located electrodes, achieving a treatment that was adaptable to any physiognomy of the patient and that did not generate any type of exacerbation of the tissue.

We settled in San Sebastián

The project was paralyzed in Japan for many years for multiple reasons and the business project resurfaced in 2014 with the son of one of the co-inventors, who founded the company in San Sebastián-Donostia in Gipúzcoa.
The general management directs the entire company towards scientific evidence, technology health certifications and establishing alliances with Universities and research institutions throughout Spain.

First NESA® Laboratory and
University Expert.

The first NESA® electrophysiology laboratory is inaugurated in the
Las Palmas de Gran Canaria University, Faculty of Health Sciences; the first academic model aimed at all health professionals, initially the first doctors and physiotherapists began to attend.
In mid-2019 we decided to enter the national market, hand in hand
of science, Institutions and above all of the Universities.

We go out to the national market.

Scientific investigation

In 2020 and 2021 we have strengthened our scientific-academic links with Universities, such as the Pontifical University of Salamanca, the Alfonso X el Sabio University and the University of Alcalá de Henares, thus managing to create independent research and different working groups through these institutions; developing new academic models for all health professionals.

Expansion Process

In 2021, the first clinical trials of non-invasive impact neuromodulation will be published, endorsed by the Spanish Medicines Agency and the European Agency for Health Technologies. The Russian scientific city of Skolkobo and the international expansion agreements to the Russian Republic, former Soviet republics and various European countries are added to the research.

SCIENCE and KNOWLEDGE

All our knowledge is based on the consensus of the Universities involved in the substantive research and development of neuromodulation of the autonomous nervous system, an interdisciplinary team made up of: neurologists, urologists, gynecologists, traumatologists, rehabilitation doctors, sports doctors, cardiologists, neurophysiologists, clinical psychologists and physical therapists.

All of them added to the same mission, to provide academic substrate to all clinical research and evidence for clinical applications.

TRAINING

Training is the basis of our growth. We focus exhaustively on the training of our human team, from skills, knowledge and human values.
And to all healthcare professional clients, we focus on university training, constant online training, constant updating through webinars and clinical updates; and also strengthen them in the business aspects of the clinic for the correct implementation of the technology.
