Testimony of Manuel Rando:
Hello, my name is María González, and I am a physiotherapist. I’m here to tell you about Manolo Rando. Manolo Rando is one of those patients who come to our clinic with many functional limitations.
He also came on recommendation, one of those situations where you feel the pressure to help with a special interest in his improvement.
When he arrived at the clinic, he was truly depressed.
We spent an hour and a half listening to him to understand why he was in that situation.
He had undergone surgery, suffered a fall, and then lived what he described as a nightmare. After several surgeries on his lumbar spine, where some vertebrae had to be cemented due to spontaneous fractures, he had a lot of pain, and more seriously, he had no motivation or interest in improving due to his associated depression.
He came to the consultation almost forced, nearly against his will.
For him, it was a major issue even accessing the clinic.
When we sat down, my main concern was to make him understand what was happening to him and show him how we needed to stabilize his autonomic nervous system, explaining it in language he could understand.Hello, good afternoon.
I am Manuel Rando, and I am 73 years old.
I have a lot of pain in the lower back.
This is because I suffered a fall at the hospital and fractured three or four lumbar vertebrae.
I had to undergo three surgeries, and the procedure involved inserting surgical cement into the damaged areas.
The surgeries went well, but the result was not as expected because I was left with a lot of back pain, pain that did not go away even with medication.
They prescribed very strong drugs, even opioid derivatives that are usually given to cancer patients, but I couldn't tolerate them well, and they had to withdraw them.We had several goals.
For him, the main one was pain, but I explained to him that there was a primary need: to improve sleep quality and reduce anxiety, which would also help improve his mood.
Therefore, we focused the treatment on these aspects.
He underwent treatment with a voucher of ten sessions that we performed passively in consultation. The improvement was progressive, especially in his functionality and mood.Soon, he began to come to the consultation by himself.
At first, he arrived by bus, barely able to walk, struggling to climb stairs and perform basic hygiene tasks.
However, before the first three or four weeks were over, he was already walking from his home, taking small breaks along the way.
He no longer depended on any family members to come to the consultation.
He is a patient we hold dear because we saw his great evolution. Now he is very grateful. He knows he will need maintenance, but his quality of life has greatly improved. He has not yet reached his optimal limit, but he has a broader view of his situation and understands that, despite his depressive profile, we have tools to help him, not only musculoskeletal and with his pain but also with his mood. Improving his sleep has played a key role in this process.
When I arrived at the clinic, I couldn't even stand up straight. I could barely walk. Climbing the stairs from the street to the second floor was tremendously difficult for me, but I did it. I got used to it and told myself, “Let's see if I'm lucky.” I told them everything that had happened to me, and we began the treatment. What was my surprise? First, I had sessions with NESA®, and although I didn’t notice much improvement after the first session, after the second session, I did notice a significant change. I was even able to go from the clinic to home without pain. It was the first time in months that I didn't feel pain.
I have improved so much that now I can do everything by myself. I can walk, and my quality of life has significantly improved. The truth is, I’m very happy, and I don’t regret at all coming and putting myself in their hands.
Improving has been something very simple but essential for me: shaving by myself. Before, I would let my beard grow for two or three days because shaving hurt me too much. I couldn’t shower. I want to emphasize this because I really couldn’t shower. I couldn’t stand up, not even to take a shower. I suffered a lot. And now, practically, when I shower, I don’t feel pain anymore. This is what I’ve noticed the most. Now I can stand in the shower and do it without help.
I’ve felt remarkable improvement, and now I have great satisfaction and joy after the treatment. Yes, I’ve noticed great happiness. I want to thank María and her entire team. They are very kind to me and treat me with a lot of affection, something that, those of us who tend to depression, also need.
Testimony of Albert Moreno:
He had difficulty speaking and a lost look. He used artificial tear liquid.
Hello, I’m Albert Moreno. I’m a physiotherapist, osteopath, and Director of Upline Clinic in Barcelona.
This case is about Verónica, and it is a very special case. She is my neighbor, so I saw her frequently in the hallway. She told me that she had had a brain tumor and suffered from facial nerve and trigeminal paralysis. Clearly, she had difficulty speaking, a lost look, and used artificial tear liquid.
It was a pretty complex situation, and at the same time, we’re talking about a 26-year-old girl. Imagine her situation, not only on an aesthetic level but also functionally. I had been using the device for only three months, and this was a case where I said: Let’s see how far the NESA device can go. There are pictures of this case, with her permission to publish them on our social media, where you can see impactful changes. And not just aesthetically: now we’re talking about a patient who can speak perfectly.
She is a patient who no longer uses tear liquids, can swallow without difficulty, and, of course, is super happy. The pain in the parietal area also decreased. Imagine the satisfaction we feel as therapists when we can improve the quality of life of these people, who, six months after the intervention, were only going to speech therapy classes and little else.
Currently, she no longer uses the device because she has improved so much, but she is always available to continue adding. And when she talks about the NESA device, she does so with enthusiasm and joy, as she herself says, to help others.
